In this study, a reserve estimation attempt in a silver ore deposit was carried out by the help of Geographic Information Systems (GIS). Using GIS, 3D model of the studied region, most suitable section planes and grade distributions were obtained and reserve estimation by cross-section method was approached. Mineral resource estimation is used to determine and define the ore tonnage and grade of a geological deposit, from the developed block model. There are different estimation methods used for different scenarios dependent upon the ore boundaries, geological deposit geometry, grade variability and the amount of time and money available. Ore reserve and mineral resource estimation methods - current practices and comparisons September 2003 Conference: Mineral Management Information Centre, Ministry of Land and Resources resource estimation methods (e.g.
resource estimation methods (e.g. polygonal, triangular, random stratified grids (RSG), or cross-sectional methods) rely on a few simple parameters, such as area, thickness and grade (based on chemical assay data). Geostatistical estimation techniques, such as Kriging, block modelling, and

While the distribution used for the approximation might be a normal distribution, this is not always so and, for example a triangular distribution might be used, depending on the application.

The Possible Reserve have the following characteristics:- A. The grade estimate of a possible reserve is a broad indication of the likely quality. B. The possible reserve contains only very general information on the mode of occurrence of geological structure and ore behavior. C.

1988-07-01 · The techniques used in ore reserve estimation vary from the simple method of polygons through heuristics such as distance weighting methods to quite sophisticated kriging procedures of geostatistics. The results from the method of polygons are usually inferior to those of both the heuristics and geostatistics.

The method helps its users to consider the local physical conditions and the The variations in estimates of energy use are large, and agriculture's total energy use can vary from different combustion processes and a variety of mineral particles. This study has as its point of departure that large reserves of energy and
All reserve estimates involve some degree of uncertainty. The uncertainty depends mainly on the amount of reliable geologic and engineering data available at the time of the estimate and the interpretation of these data.
